Institutional Consultation and Advisory Services
In accordance with the institutional social contribution mission of Aksaray University, the Unit for Disadvantaged and Disabled Students provides pro bono consultation and advisory services tailored to individuals with disabilities and disadvantaged populations.
Within this framework, specialized faculty members in the field of special education deliver targeted advisory services to individuals with disabilities and individuals placed in at-risk categories across the province of Aksaray. These provisions encompass:
Identifying individualized psychoeducational and instructional needs,
Providing guidance and specialized information regarding special education trajectories,
Facilitating appropriate referrals to relevant educational and specialized support services,
Analyzing and addressing educational, developmental, and social challenges encountered by individuals.
Advisory Services Tailored to Enrolled University Students
Students with disabilities enrolled at Aksaray University may also access individualized advisory services by scheduling appointments with designated academic faculty advisors appointed by the Unit.
Through this service, the Unit aims to:
Systematically identify academic and instructional challenges encountered throughout higher education trajectories,
Direct students toward appropriate support frameworks and reasonable academic accommodations,
Appraise individual requirements regarding campus adaptation and equitable participation in university life,
Provide structured referrals and liaisons with relevant academic departments and administrative bodies.
The consultative process is strictly designed not to make decisions on behalf of the student, but rather to determine individual needs, elucidate available institutional options, and facilitate seamless access to appropriate support mechanisms.
Dimension of Social and Civic Contribution
These advisory services represent a vital civic engagement initiative, enabling Aksaray University to extend its institutional reach beyond its enrolled student body to disadvantaged and disabled individuals across diverse segments of the community, thereby deploying specialized academic expertise for public benefit.
Delivering these services free of charge substantially reduces barriers to accessing specialized expertise, directly reinforcing an accessible, inclusive, and equitable institutional framework.
Application and Appointment Procedures
Members of the public and university students seeking to access these advisory services may initiate appointment requests by submitting an application to the Aksaray University Unit for Disadvantaged and Disabled Students.
Applications are systematically evaluated in accordance with the scope of the inquiry and the individual's documented needs, following which appointments are scheduled with the most relevant specialist faculty advisor.
All consultation and advisory services are provided free of charge.
