Engelsiz Kampüs İçin Daha Çok Çalışacağız

Fikret Özkaya, President of the Aksaray Branch of the Turkish Association of the Visually Impaired, and Muammer Acar, President of the Aksaray Visually Impaired Barrier-Free Vision Club, paid a congratulatory courtesy visit to Prof. Dr. Alpay Arıbaş, Rector of Aksaray University (ASÜ).

Reaffirming that ASÜ is an accessible institution whose commitment is evidenced by independent institutional assessments, Rector Alpay Arıbaş highlighted the university’s sustained advancement in promoting barrier-free campus life. Noting that the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has been conferring the "Accessible University Awards" since 2018 and that ASÜ has consistently ranked among the top institutions nationwide over the past five years, Arıbaş stated: "Most recently, in 2023, we were awarded a total of 23 accessibility flags—consisting of nine orange, five green, and nine blue flags—securing second place across Türkiye among 56 participating universities. We are dedicated to systematically eliminating institutional barriers and meticulously fulfilling our responsibilities. Moving forward, we will expand our collaborative efforts with diverse external stakeholders."

The association leaders extended their congratulations and best wishes to Rector Alpay Arıbaş on his tenure, while also presenting an overview of their organizations' ongoing community initiatives.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the respective associations alongside Research Assistant Cahit Şahin, Coordinator of the ASÜ Unit for Students with Disabilities.
